An amazing ending to the best racing anime in existence. It's always fun to watch this anime over and over after some gap and the battles are just as thrilling and educational. Definitely my favourite anime of all time and this is certainly not the last time I'm going to rewatch it.

If you want to rewatch it, better try watch the New initial D Movie instead ( almost like summary of the story and save more time ). More or less like the remake of the original series with newer artstyle and design.

I've watched this series more than anyone or at least as much as anyone and while I don't hate the three movie summary of season one its weak compared to the real deal and takes too many liberties with the plot. Completely lacks eurobeats also.

Not really no, he was active for some time, tearing down the competition, after three years in the Brit rally championship he won the title, then had amazing results in WRC he earned himself the moniker "Flying John", then had an accident and had to leave for a while. So he already became a legend in motorsport. Also he's an instructor in a Racing School. Try reading MF Ghost(or wait for the anime)

Don't expect it to be as good as Initial D tho, it's good but not that good.

honestly S1 so far of MF Ghost is solid maybe not as good as S1 and S2 of Initial D but for me its better than S4 and S5 so far well see next year when S2 of MF Ghost continues hope it stays solid

and so Ryosuke stopped racing and became a great doctor succeeding his family business while coordinating and funding a new racing tournament that part in MF Ghost was so cool ngl xD

Seeing him pass that GT86 at the end made me feel something undescribable... lol

Im pretty sure that the GT86 is foreshadowing "MF Ghost" which based in the same world, but a few years later and the driver of the GT86 is also friends with Ryosuke's kid or Ryosuke himself not sure though. Anyways the manga might get an anime adaption someday.

the driver of MF Ghost is literally Takumis top student when Takumi later on is a teacher at a prestige driving school in England and the story of MF Ghost picks up after that driver more or less graduates that school and returns to JP in search for his JP father

[14-3-22] Finished it in 4 days . It was a memorable ride .

Well that was a satisfying ending… but anyway did takumi not take the offer to go pro? (They only showed mako and keisuke on pro circuit, and takumi is still racing the wrx on the streets…) also I love how those guys who always ended up at the same spot to watch a race and claimed to hate each other are seen together in the outro. And the ending is a showcase of the new anime coming in 2023 with the Toyota 86 (basically a brz)

This is why proper translations are necessary. I remember in the manga, Bunta had originally tuned the engine to be able to rev to 11K. Though Ryosuke had it detuned for longevity & powerband to 10K. Also in the flashback (manga) it came across as if Ryosuke had lied to Takumi saying the engine could handle 12K in short burst for this race. A la it was re-tuned, but in actuality he lied to Takumi knowing he wouldn't intentionally exceed the engines limits.

My journey with Initial D has come to an end...
Initial is the best anime and the best racing thing I've ever watched in my life.
Really what a wonderful journey it was all these races with Takumi's journey to become best street racer.
86-239 = Hachiroku ni san kyu (Thank you 86) this line touched my heart man :)
Idk whenever Rage your dream plays in Initial D it gives me vibes which can't be explained through words.
I can gladly say that Toyota is my fav car brand.
So GT-86 is the successor of AE86 damn.
I hope that this was Forshadowing to MF Ghost .
To the people who want to know what happened to Takumi after the end he went pro and married Mika then retired and now trains other racers.
So ig this was all it was fun watching this anime with y'all.

I lowk wish that MF Ghost keeps this Final Stage art style and use it on MF Ghost but without Fujiwara Zone lmao.

a fun ending :D I might rewatch this silly show after S2 of MF Ghost ends who knows S1 and S2 those are definitly the best story telling in Initial D before going a bit silly much like s1 of Future GPX Cyber Formula before it gets a bit silly in the OVAs over all fun watch with lots of ups and some downs xD

Im suprised that Takumi didn't get mad like in the race with Shingo i was kinda furious that he was ramming Takumi like that the whole race to pass him i guess smooth driving was all Shinji was good at really and in any other racing skill he was trash but still not cool man

I hated this arch but I finally love it. Took some years to process it I guess.

Now that it has finished, all that remains is memories and sadness.

Initial D is fantastically and wonderfully executed.

Initial D is my favourite anime now even above Code geass fr man. It just won my heart.

I am now just waiting for Intial D : MF Ghost.

Whenever Rage your dream plays in this anime it gives me goosebumps but this time idk why but it gave me Out worldly experience :)

The way Takumi still cares for his AE86 warms my heart after all that's the car that's been with him since he was in elementary school.
It puts a smile on my face that he still takes care of his car even after it being worn out.
In a way we can say that it's his car crush lol.
